London College of Theology
The College is a private educational institution
that provides quality education in Religious Studies and Theology for
individuals who are seeking to acquire practical skills and academic knowledge
in this field. As a result of this, the College’s curriculum aims both at
providing knowledge in the various courses and modules as well as giving
students skills that they can use in their various ministries.
The courses offered have been designed to provide for the acquisition of
knowledge as well as equip students with the relevant skills via which their
knowledge can be used for the benefit of the individual and the society at
large. In particular, the content of the programmes have been influenced
largely by current trends and developments in contemporary Christian ministry
as well as in the study of religion.
All of this is intended to produce graduates who can fit anywhere in society,
be it within the Church or outside of it. It is crucially important to the
founders that the desire to maintain rigorous standards comparable to any on
the globe as well as train competent leaders for the Church will influence the
future development of the College's academic programme and training.
A fitting catch-phrase that explains the vision and role that the College has set itself to play is expressed in its motto "Making Theology relevant to the Church and the Society” The College is proposing to have a library that will hold some of the important books, journals, periodicals etc. on Theology and Religions. .
Uniqueness of the College
First, college aims to prepare men and women who are called into Christian ministry as Pastors, Evangelists, Teachers, Church Administrators, Youth Leaders, Worship Leaders, Women Leaders etc
Second, the College aims to meet the needs of those who are seeking to use the courses as a preparation for further academic work in the fields of Theology or Religious Studies. For these people, the courses are designed to assist in the acquisition of knowledge and research skills in the study of Religion.
Thirdly, the College aims to meet the needs of people who wish to enrol on the programmes in order to enrich their own understanding of Religious Studies or Theology so as to deepen their own faith
The College has also designed short courses that are meant to equip the staff of Churches such as Sunday School Teachers, Ushers, Stewards, Prayer Leaders, Evangelism Directors, Music Directors etc. These short courses will assist both in stimulating the spiritual fervour of such staff as well as equipping them with the requisite skills for their work
Finally, as a reflection of our uniqueness and because we want to be of assistance to the Churches, the College runs programmes such as evangelistic crusades, teaching training programmes, prayer sessions etc. for churches upon request
The building that holds the office is strategically located and is linked to the rest of London by excellent underground, surface train, tramp and bus routes.
